Yes! We are still here, we have not gone away and nor do we ever think we will! Contraband Candy is back once again with some killer viewing for you, yourself and your mum!
In search of inspirational ink, we hauled our asses down to the Tobacco Dock in Wapping, East London to see some of the world’s best tattoo artists in action at the world famous London Tattoo Convention 2008. We were blown away by the artistry, the madness and the fantastic pain-endurance of the punters!
The convention was a full-on event so there’s plenty of twisted rock n’ roll and saucy Burlesque action on in Vince Ray’s Voodoo Crypt at the same time, making this a great weekend for Alternative culture.

We chat to beer soaked forest dwelling folk-metallers Korpiklaani,.plus major league guitar legend Karl Sanders of Nile talks about guitars, Elizabeth Taylor, his new side project and being ‘Ithyphallic’ – yes, you ALMOST know what that means, but let Karl tell you himself! And we visit the dark side with cult Finnish Black Metallers Horna.

It nearly killed us, but now we are ready to face the world again after the 19th Wacken Open Air Festival. It was wild! It was more then wild, it was insane! It is defiantly the biggest Metal gathering in the world and we are very proud to of been apart of it.

Listen up folks ‘cause this is HOT NEWS! Contraband Candy’s Tuska Festival programme up there and ready to give your brain a good kicking!
We show you Finland’s Tuska Festival in its true beer-and-Jäger-drenched glory, the way a proper Metal festival was meant to be enjoyed. With Korpiklaani’s fantastic song ‘Beer Beer’ as the theme tune, you can just imagine the sort of bollocks we got up to this time around!
Johan Hegg of Amon Amarth speaks about their new album, computer games and Viking paraphernalia. René has one too many Jägermeisters before the Primordial interview but still manages to keep her shit together – just about! Mille of Kreator talks about the pros and cons of Pro-Tools, their up and coming European and US tour in 2009 and their next album. And last but by no means least we sign off this episode by interviewing Lord Of The Rings obsessives, the mighty Battlelore.
